Boxcar
I snapped this photo on the train ride home a few days ago. It has lots of digital noise because of the high ISO setting, and the trees in the foreground blurred nicely as we zipped along.
Truth be told, I’ve forgotten what the actual subject was (this was part of a series of Panning shots more to practice panning than to take pictures of anything in particular), and I’m going to have to look on the train ride tomorrow. I’m assuming they’re train boxcars.
I like the grainy, shadowy content and the gritty old-film feel of the shot.

I’ve also gotten a primitive style sheet in place that does just about what I want. If some part of the site doesn’t work well in your browser, feel free to comment on that as well and I’ll see about fixing it.
I agree about the gritty, old-time feel to this. Gives the shot a lot of character, even though there is no defined subject. Actually, it’s probably better that way.
Abhi: Thanks for the feedback! I’m still looking for the opportunity to shoot this same feel with an actual subject in it.
