Accordian
I loved both of these macro shots (I believe I had the +4 filter attached) of an accordian player playing in the Italian Market yesterday. I couldn’t decide on one, so I made this composite. Someone in the group got the guy’s name and contact information, but I’ve forgotten whom. Maybe someone will stumble on to this page and post his name.
I believe Robin got his name or biz card. His fingernails look so gruff, but at the same time, his fingers look delicate. Maybe it’s the accordian he’s playing which is just such an odd thing to play in the middle of the street, even in the Italian Market.
the close up shot is superb. the colors and clarity are wonderful. also, i love these composite shots but cannot figure out how to do them – any helpful hints for PS?
Jamie: This one was done in three layers. There’s a bottom layer that’s light gray (the color of the border between the shots). The second layer is the right half, which I cut from the gray border over to the left, leaving a transparent area to the bottom layer. Then I selected all from the second layer, inverted the selection, created a third layer, edited the layer mask and filled the selected area (cleaning it up by removing a couple of rows of pixels so that the light gray border between the two pictures would be exposed). Then pasted the second picture into the third layer, moved it around until the composition was correct, and merged everything into one layer.
Hope that helps!
OK, my husband is laughing telling me I’ve done this before, only he was telling me how to do it. I’ll have him hold my hand and walk me through it again. Thanks for all your help 🙂
It just takes a little practice, and before you know it it’s second nature!
