Part of a bulldozer that was recently used during part of SEPTA’s track re-lay in Jenkintown. One of these days I’ll learn to pull out my flash to get better exposures on shots like this; there’s a second shot I tried to take today which suffered worse from underexposed foreground. I’ll see about shooting it properly tomorrow if the weather permits.
I think this is a very fine shot. A flash would have left it looking too flat. This has a great punch of color!
If this had been taken with a flash, I could have gotten the punch without washing out the background — which I think would have been a nicer shot. That’s why I wanted the flash.
You can see a little of what I’m talking about: the back row of “teeth” has a substantially brighter yellow. The sun was hitting that part of the ‘dozer, but the front was in shade.
Ah well, it turned out okay anyway. Glad you like it, Micki!
i agree with the first post. The flash wouldve flatten it.
