The Pink One
Yes, I’m running low on material. I’ve also been trying to find a good shot of this building for some time now. It’s just west of the main post office, between Chestnut and Market.
I’m not particularly fond of this shot but Sue really likes it. What do you think? What draws you to it?
I love the color. With the stucco, it looks European.
I like this shot, but I don’t love it. There are consistent strong lines
throughout; even the shadows form strong lines on the horizontal bits of the ductwork at the back, and the two-color composition is also powerful.
As subject matter, it is wholly uninteresting, and once I start looking more carefully at it I don’t like it as much. I start noticing the cooling fans in
the lower left, and the camera or whatever it is above right of that… But if I step back and just take it in as a whole, it works.
I like your statement of trying to find a good shot of this building… Sounds fun. Perhaps we should go together at lunch someday and try again (which direction does it face? The light might be horrid at noon.)
