Angel 3
Fourth in the cemetery series. This was probably my most successful photo shoot; most of the shots came out pretty much the way I wanted, and I could keep posting shots for at least another week. But I won’t; I’ll post one more from this series tomorrow, and then we’ll move on to a new subject.
I spent most of yesterday and some of today repairing my father-in-law’s old Petri Racer (1967) 35mm rangefinder. The advance lever was opening the shutter on return about 80% of the time. I guess all of those mechanical clocks that my grandfather gave me as a kid paid off — I managed to get the clockwork mechanism back into working order somehow. I’m not sure that it’s still aligned in any way, so I’ve got a test roll of ISO 200 in it now. (The flash is defunct, so I figured 200 would be a good compromise.) The light meter is also non-functional, but that’s because the battery is dead… I just have to find a suitable replacement for the original mercury battery!
Please post more! This is a wonderful shot, its full of peace!
Well done !!
I love the b/w conversion!
Just lovely. I have always loved cemeteries (!) and this is a beautiful interpretation.
Leigh: I’d like to do a snow series in the cemetery, or possibly a rain series. The rain will probably wait for it to become warmer outside!
Yuri: glad you like it.
Thomas: I would have also liked to see this statue with the flowers still in its hand; you can just see the the band that someone tied to its hand to hold them up. But then again, it seems more morose with just the band and no flowers.
beautiful.
This surely is the best of the cemetary series. And they are all very beautiful.
