I think I like yesterday’s better; it leaves more to the imagination. This one implies that the footsteps lead somewhere, which is misleading; my eyes get to the top of the frame, get frustrated, and wander around looking for something more interesting. On yesterday’s shot, I can just think about the single footprint. Also, the strong horizontal lines in this one make me wish for a wider crop (assuming the additional area would just show more sand).
I think both would work better with more depth of field. Seems like you could have easily gotten away with f/8 or f/11, given the shutter speeds.
