Necessity
It turns out that a spatula, although usually a good idea when grilling, can be replaced with a hunk of cardboard if you know what you’re doing. 🙂

To be fair to Jim (the hand pictured belongs to him), he wasn’t necessarily in charge of bringing everything for the grilling. So he knows what he’s doing, and wasn’t technically responsible for rememebering the spatula.
As for the whereabouts of that cardboard… well, I don’t know its provenance. And since I ate said burgers I’m also sure that I don’t want to know.
