I love the concept, and like the execution. The framing is great; I like having just a hint of hat, ear, sleeve, and bridge. The relative brightness of the guitar and his face serves to reinforce that the subject is in the foreground, though the earring brings the eyes up to explore the top. I’d suggest lightening up his fingers as well.

Another approach might be to darken the body of the guitar and lighten his fingers and face, so that it separated from the background. Is there a nose ring there too? I’d have to that version before committing to that as a solution, though.
