Happiness
The bride and groom, true to form, didn’t hire a photographer yesterday. Of course, I took my camera, and this is the best shot from the day. It was a great lesson in what does and doesn’t work: the church was vast, with nothing to bounce the flash off of; the luncheon hall was mid-sized, with posed photos in a corner and a odd-shaped ceiling that reflected light in unexpected ways; and the reception room was small. Unfortunately all of them were fairly dark, and I lost a good half of the shots even at ISO 800 because of the required slow shutter speeds. Note to self: when light meter says it’s too dark, then it’s too dark. Bump up to 1600 and accept the digital noise.
Thank you for the wonderful picture. I feel honored to be immortalized on the web. However, Anne feels honoured instead.

And for those that don’t get the joke, Anne is from Ireland while Greg and I are Yanks.
