This is the second in the series from the foggy cemetery. I think this one is my favorite, although I wish I had picked up more of the red from the bow. Should have had the flash handy… lesson learned! At least I did remember to set the camera back to ISO 100 for this shoot. For once.
I love cemetery shots. This one is really nicely captured!
This makes me sad for some reason…but I really like it. I like images that bring out emotions like that.
I agree with dawn, it’s a very evocative image. And very well captured on your part, compositionally and lighting. It’s also interesting that though the hands and hair are obviously sculpted the face, at that angle, looks amazingly real.
Thanks, all! Most of the tombstones in this cemetery are fairly modern (like in the previous picture), but there are a few older pieces around. This angel was on top of a fairly modern (dark grey) tombstone. The arrangement of flowers around it was quite beautiful. It was sad, and peaceful. I’m glad that I got some of that in the photo.
I like the 3 layer feel of this photo. At first i see the angel, then the colored ground, then the fog coming in, it gives it a very forboding feel.
Agreed. The mass of tree branches add to the confusion in the background, enhancing the mood for me.
I also love cemetaries and liked the vibe from all of the photos. Kind of reminds me of “Winter #5” at http://www.afterlifeseasons.com.
