Tonight was Philly’s official lighting of the Christmas tree. Usually the tree stands by City Hall, but City Hall is under construction this year — so it’s in Love Park. This was also my first deliberate shoot at ISO 1600 (even with the flash), and it turned out fairly well.
Looks great. (The thumbnail has terrible pixelation in the red though.) I’d like to see more of the crowd for context. You can always remove context; cropping in post-processing IS NOT FAILURE! Otherwise, a lovely balance in the composition; two fantastic Philly landmarks.

Yeah, the thumbnails aren’t very high quality. One of these days I’ll fix that. As for the context, I didn’t see the girl in my viewfinder at all — I don’t know if I was just ignoring the bottom of the frame or if my viewfinder is cropped smaller than the SLR’s field of view. I’ll have to check it out.
great shot – reminds me of the Rage Against the Machine cover for their ‘Renegades’ album
I was there once (http://www.pbase.com/airbete/image/20717664). It’s cool to see this place 3 years later. Great pic.
