Tookany Snow
Tookany Creek, down by the Jenkintown train station, still covered in snow from the recent “blizzard.” Personally, it didn’t feel like a blizzard. Blizzards to me involve serious deluges of snow and lots of wind. This one seemed to just be a heavy snowfall that everyone panicked about because it was the first heavy snowfall of the season. Even if it was 14 inches (36 cm for the metrically-oriented).
I can’t decide if I like this one better as a black-and-white or a color photo. Have a look at the color version and let me know what you think; did I do this justice by reducing it to black and white?
And in film-related news: the test roll from the Petri Racer came out pretty well. I obviously have to learn how to use it better, as the composition wasn’t exactly what I expected. The light meter seems to be a little off, but what can you expect from a 1967 camera that you’ve been tinkering with? 😉
B&W, definitely. That’s what drew me in. I always think it’s funny what the east coast thinks is a storm versus what us in the west deal with as storms.
Thanks, Dawn. The odd thing is that Philadelphians, by and large, know how to deal with snow. It’s just the first storm of the season that seems to always catch everyone off guard. Oh, and that everyone has to race to the grocery store whenever they hear that it even might snow.
