Anticipation
Hi all, thanks for your comments on yesterday’s picture! I’ve got a million more, but I’m not going to put them all up here at once and deter my regular crowd of art-loving viewers with pictures of Jake, Jake, Jake, mom and Jake, Jake, Grandmother and Jake, Jake, and Jake. (Apologies to Monty Python.) Rest assured the pictures will find a home once we get back home — which should be tomorrow.
For those that are wondering, the three of us are fine. We’re still at the hospital tonight. We’re exhausted, even though we were blessed with 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep last night. We’re hoping for the same tonight, although it would be unusual.
This isn’t the best picture I’ve ever taken but it’s quite symbolic today. This is a case of newborn cloth diapers, stacked in the washing machine ready to go for their first wash. They’ll be seeing many more washes in the immediate future…
Congratulations! I love this picture and can practically smell that sweet baby smell in this picture.
Thanks for the update! And now, a pointless story about cloth diapers. Now, I’m sure that you probably have a diaper pail to soak the dirty diapers in before they go into the wash. However, back in 1961, when my parents were dealing with a two year old and a newborn (my eldest brother and sister) and cloth diapers, for some reason they didn’t have a diaper pail. So mom used to soak the dirties in the toilet. And dad had this habit of not looking in the bowl before using it and flushing. So… After having to fish out the cloth diapers from the clogged toilet a few times, they finally got a 5-gallon bucket. Morals of the story: (1) have a diaper bucket or (2) look before you use/flush.
